Check for possible damage and treat promptly as possible
Here are the instructions:
1. Do not try to move or lift the person who is severely injured, unless he is in immediate danger to incur additional damages. Seek immediate medical assistance.
2. If somebody stops breathing, begin CPR if you are trained to do so.
3. To avoid bleeding, direct pressure on the wound will help.
4. If you are trapped, try to get attention by blowing a whistle if one exists.
Usual precautions at risk
Here's what to do:
1. Listen to your battery-powered radio or television for emergency information.
2. Be careful when entering any structure damaged. Use battery-powered lights instead of candles to turn on the homes without electricity.
3. Be alert to the dangers of open nails and broken glass.
4. If you see a similar risk of peeled power lines or flashes, or if there is a gas leak, immediately turn off the electricity at the main circuit breaker/tank of gas. Recourse to the agencies concerned.
