What to do during a Thunderstorm?

Once inside the house or building:

1. Stay calm and listen to the radio for news.
2. The cordless and cellular telephones are safe to use.
3. Turn off or disconnect from the outlet electrical appliances. The sudden surge of electricity and lightning can cause equipment breakdown.
4. Stay away from windows and doors, leave the porch/veranda.
5. Avoid contact with the tube. The pipes and faucets can be the conductor of electricity.

Avoid:

1. Wash your hands.
2. Take a bath
3. Wash the dishes.
4. Washing clothes
5. Do not lie on concrete floors and do not lean on the concrete wall, instead, do the lightning position when there is lightning.

Once outside the house or building

Avoid:

1. High and isolated trees in vast areas because it is the natural lightning rod.
2. Stand at the top of the hill, open field, beach, or boat in the water.
3. Separate barn or other small building in the wide area.
4. Glue on any steel, tractors, farming equipment, motorcycles, golf carts, bicycles, and more.
5. Hold the iron or other objects that carry electricity in and outside the vehicle.

Things to do:

Pandemic

1. Take shelter in a sturdy building.
2. When you feel the hair stand up on the head, it is an indication that there is lightning, do not lay on the ground rather take the safe position when there is lightning.

When driving

1. Carefully pull off the road and park.
2. Stay in the car and enable hazard light until after the heavy rain.

In forest
